Resumen
In many rural areas, especially those with limited resources, children face serious limitations in terms of adequate leisure opportunities and social activities. The lack of recreational infrastructure and the scarcity of organized programs contribute to a situation where children experience boredom, physical inactivity, and social isolation.
The absence of adequate recreational facilities, such as parks, sports fields or community centres, means that children lack safe and stimulating spaces to play and socialize outdoors. This deficiency can have a significant impact on their physical, social and emotional development. Technology, while it can provide entertainment, can also contribute to a sedentary lifestyle and social isolation when it becomes the only form of leisure available.
Additionally, the lack of organized and supervised activities can limit learning and personal growth opportunities for children in these rural communities. Children's quality of life and emotional well- being can be compromised due to a lack of positive stimuli and enriching experiences.
It is essential to address these challenges by implementing recreational and social programs tailored to the specific needs of these rural communities. Providing equitable access to safe recreational spaces and encouraging appropriate physical and social activities can contribute significantly to improving the quality of life and comprehensive development of children living in disadvantaged rural areas.
